Designed for professional kitchens and food service environments, RFX delivers continuous remote temperature monitoring across extended cooks. Wireless probes track internal temperatures in real time so teams can verify doneness, maintain consistency, and protect food safety without interrupting service. Built on patent-pending sub-GHz radio frequency technology, RFX maintains a stable probe-to-gateway connection across kitchens, smokers, ovens, and production spaces—without the dropouts common to Bluetooth®.

Each gateway supports 50+ probes and sends continuous data to the ThermoWorks app and cloud for visibility across multiple cooks simultaneously. Four independently calibrated sensors deliver ±0.9°F accuracy across critical cooking ranges, while the RFX MEAT™ probe withstands external heat up to 1,000°F and runs 50+ hours on a single charge. Whether monitoring briskets in a BBQ pit, verifying pasteurization in cook-chill systems, or tracking temperatures through conveyor ovens, RFX provides reliable, real-time data to support operational efficiency, consistency, and food safety compliance.

  • Designed for Extended Production Cooks: 65+ hours of battery life supports overnight smoking, large batch cooking, and long production runs.
  • Remote Tracking Through App and Cloud: RFX Gateway sends real-time data to the ThermoWorks app and cloud via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for alerts, logs, and cook history.

The RFX system abandons unreliable Bluetooth in favor of our patent-pending Sub-1 GHz radio frequency. Engineered for uncompromising durability, this professional-grade technology effortlessly pushes signals through thick steel smokers, heavy dutch ovens, and commercial oven walls. By prioritizing signal density over novelty, RFX delivers the most stable, uninterrupted wireless thermal data available for precision cooking.
The RFX Meat Probe captures internal temperatures and transmits them via our patent-pending Sub-1 GHz RF technology directly to the RFX Gateway. Acting as a powerful bridge, the gateway instantly processes that raw thermal data and pushes it over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to the ThermoWorks App, ensuring your cooks are monitored with exacting, continuous reliability.
The RFX probe transmits temperature data up to a commanding 1,500 feet line-of-sight directly to the gateway. Once the gateway connects to your local Wi-Fi network, your monitoring range becomes infinite. This robust architecture ensures you can track your cooks with absolute certainty from anywhere in the world via the cloud-connected ThermoWorks App.
Absolutely. The RFX ecosystem is engineered with a grounded, long-term vision, designed to grow alongside your culinary needs. The current RFX Gateway acts as the central hub for a future-proof mesh network, preparing your setup to seamlessly integrate a growing lineup of specialized ThermoWorks probes, and sensors without forced obsolescence.
Traditional Bluetooth thermometers hit a strict hardware bottleneck, capping out at just four connections. By utilizing our proprietary Sub-1 GHz RF technology, the RFX Gateway bypasses these consumer limitations, effortlessly managing up to 50 independent probes simultaneously. This purpose-driven capability allows professional kitchens and pitmasters to scale operations with absolute confidence.

Reviews

RFX Wireless Probe is great

"Recently purchased the RFX Wireless Probe Starter Kit. I have cooked fish twice using the probes. The RFX is easy to set up and allows me to set temps in the app to alert me when I have different sizes of fish, yet allowing each to cook to the perfect temp. The RFX range and signal strength is excellent. I can monitor the cooking temps with my fish on the grill while I am in the kitchen getting the rest of the meal ready."

so far so good!

"this tool is incredibly convenient. my first cook with it was spot on! instructions were clear, and the quality of the components are obviously good. if i had one complaint, it would be that the grill temp probe was missing the grill clip, that I have received with past probes of this type. but again great job with this RFX series. I will stick with this one!"

ALEXANDER M. (5/5)

Awesome

"Things work great. Have the Smoke Signal too, but I love the RFX more. I use them for every cook now. No more guessing, awesome for the rotisserie too, no cords to deal with. If they broke would I buy them again? Yes!"

Great Sale

"I'm an existing customer who wanted more probes and to fill my 10-probe charger. I bought a 4-probe starter kit a year or two ago when it was on sale, and I had bought two more probes recently when they were on sale, but I couldn't pass on this deal. I bought this starter kit simply for the four probes; the sale price was more cost-effective than buying the probes individually, even at their best sale price. Additionally, now I have a spare gateway that I can pack away in case I ever need it"

Michael C. (5/5)

Very Useful Product

"I have now used the wireless probe on Beef Filets, Chicken breasts and butterfly pork chops. So nice to have an alert when the meat is ready at the desired temperature. All three meats turned out perfect! Realized I needed to be careful and not accidentally run the probe through the meat (caught it in time). It is a bit more challenging on a thinner cut in my case the butterfly chops. Overall, very happy I purchased."

Bill W. (5/5)

Learning curve for sure, but

"Learning curve for sure, but once you get it you get it. You either need to buy the battery bank or get a Thermacell pack on Amazon with a straight dc to usb-c adapter and a dumb male to female dc cable. The fan will not spin unless it gets 12v. Your portable battery pack you already own won’t get the job done. Great product, great ecosystem. I won’t consider any other brand."

Sean L. (5/5)

Accurate and Easy to Use

"I just purchased the RFX Gateway and wireless probe. I have only used it once, but it was easy to set up and worked flawlessly. I barbecued a prime rib roast on my Kamado Joe using the rotisserie, and it came out perfectly. I was able to set the "done" temperature and monitor the progress on the up - no running out to the BBQ every 15 minutes to check doneness! It is a time and peace of mind saver!"

Jeffrey C. (5/5)

Just Started

"I have had the RFX only a couple of weeks and have used it once. I was extremely impressed with its range and accuracy. I anticipate a slight learning curve switching from my Tappecue system to the RFX but in the end I feel will be well worth it."

John M. (5/5)

We’ve used our new RFX

"We’ve used our new RFX Wireless probes three times already in two weeks. Once for multiple pork butts, once for a salmon filet and once for chuck roast. I’d previously had a “wireless” meat thermometer from another brand…I had to make sure the thermometer’s base unit was immediately next to our smoker and my phone had to be pressed against the kitchen window to get the reading. With the RFX system, it is truly wireless from anywhere. I’ve had the RFX Gateway inside the house and it is still has a strong signal to the probes in the closed smoker. When I’ve grabbed a beer to drink while smoking, it was at my favorite brewery and I was still able to track the temps on the pork butts and waited out the stall there. I’m loving this system."

Andrew T. (5/5)

Never be put in a position to depend on batteries

"Love the AC ten probe charger. At least I know I will not have to depend on non dependable batteries to charge my probes again! Worth the piece of mind that I can control the cooking schedule without having to worry about a depleted or leaking batteries!"
